It would make sense for Dominik to induct his father into the WWE Hall of Fame this year in any other circumstance. However, given Dom and Rey Mysterio are involved in a storyline and will probably face off at WrestleMania 39. Dom might be present for Rey Mysterio’s induction—possibly as someone who disrupts the ceremony. There weren’t many rational options left, as longtime friend Eddie Guerrero had passed away and Batista might also be elected into the Hall of Fame.

Having said that, it seems that WWE and Mysterio have made a decision. The night before WrestleMania, Konnan will reportedly perform the honors for Rey, and it’s stated that Rey requested this. When it comes to their collaborative history, WWE and Konnan don’t exactly have the best record. Yet, Konnan’s participation in this unique event has been permitted by the corporation.  Konnan was the natural choice because the two had been tight for years and that it was Konnan who helped Rey get started in his career.

Konnan  briefly portraed Max Moon in the early 1990s in WWE, though that gimmick didn’t stick around for very long. He spent years in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he later developed into a bigger name. He was renowned for his engaging demeanor, creative in-ring technique, and capacity to relate to the Hispanic population. He now works as a publicist and occasionally appears on AEW programs.

Late in the 1980s, Konnan began wrestling in Mexico, where he also introduced Rey to the sport. Though Rey went on to have a far larger career, the two have remained close. Both became highly popular.
